Just some pictures (and a few captions) of my current trip to south Asia. It’s experiences like this where Jesus’ last command—“make disciples of all nations”—comes into even greater focus for me as I see it played out person after person in all kinds of places. So thankful spiritual reproduction knows no distinction!
The villages pictured below, and the churches/leaders in them, are actual. They have names (though I didn’t mention them in this post). They’re real. Living. Breathing. Each one with its own story. Yet each one part of the same story—God’s passion for his glory among the nations!
Young men who are also young new believers in the very first church in their village.
Forced out of his parent’s home after following Jesus years ago, God has been faithful to this man. He now plants churches and train new church planters.
The very first believing family in a village. They are now hosting the church plant in their home.
This man, at about 70, stepped forward to be a “Timothy” for his village in another part of the ward.
This young man came to Christ as a result of his sister (middle) and mom (right). He is now a “Timothy” in their village’s developing church, willing to reproduce himself in another.
Yet another young new church with new believers in a village that before had never heard of Jesus. The man to the far right in the plaid shirt is their “Timothy.”
Here are new believers, as well as some seekers, in a village with no church till now.
These two men have been used by God to plant over 10,000 churches in their areas. So humbling to meet them and spend some days with them. My honor!
